Day 9 CIC Database research in West Region 2-3

Today I learned how to find out the staff’s contact information of the athletics department in the university/college’s athletics webpages. When I started my research, CA was the first state to gather information. At first, I found it was a little time-consuming to find out staff’s contact information because I used it the wrong way. University/college’s inside search engine did not work so well as I thought because the searching results came out with Google on the whole Internet. As a result, the results included too much unrelated information and I needed more time to filter them and pick up something useful for the research. As the more developed state in the West Region, the amount of university/college in the State California was a bit lot. About 30 schools, there were only three without any athletics: Brandman University, Golden Gate University, and Woodbury University. If I continued this wrong and time-consuming searching method, my portion could not be completed in time. Then, on the athletics webpage, I found that there was a single section called staff directory where could easily find out all the staff in the athletics department. From the top executor to the entry-level staff, it was clear to illustrate all the contact information to the normal online visitor. After today’s data collection, high-education schools paid more attention to their athletics development in the State of California. One of the most possible answers came from the fierce school competitions for qualified athletics in this region.
