This morning I received an email from Jessica Piao, who was the co-worker for my project 2021 Tokyo postponed impact on the tourism industry between the U.S. and China. She was mainly responsible for collecting the raw data in the mode of the papered questionnaire in Beijing from December 2020 to March 2021. As the last part of raw data of this comparison project, her four-month collection was 62, except for seven invalid ones, the ultimate valid questionnaire was 55. Before I merging her collection into my entire raw data pool, I analyzed it roughly and got a brief result. First, the volume of the collection was relatively small for formal study research in such a long-time gathering period. The primary reason would be various Chinese holidays in the collection process, including the New Year and the most important Chinese festival for all Chinese people-the Lunar New Year. Although this year’s Lunar New Year was on Jan 11 and Chinese people had a seven-day holiday to celebrate the grand and traditional festival, generally Chinese people used to prepare this festival prior to the current day about in 15 days. In other words, during the collection process, the entire February would be ignored for the questionnaire. Second, the gender distribution was around equal between males (28) and females (27). Third, the age distribution was uneven. Among the four age groups, there was no one in the first level (18-25 years old) and a small portion of 34.5% in the second level (26-25 years old). The rest of the participants was relatively elder than my whole raw data pool.
