Day 23 Tokyo Olympic postponed impact questionnaire from China's online format

已更新:2021年4月18日

Through the first collection of the project of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics postponed impact on the tourism industry between the U.S. and China, I found the mode of the papered questionnaire was less effective and had more restrictions like time, location, and costs. Besides, the negative influence of the COVID-19 was lasting all over the world, instead of in-person contact of answering the papered questionnaire, people prefer to finish it via the Internet to avoid unnecessary infections. I made an online questionnaire by WenJuanXing, which was an online crowdsourcing platform providing functions equivalent to Amazon Mechanical Turk in mainland China. Although this online platform would be paid for some premium functions, it was absolutely free for my questionnaire and follow-up analysis. In this online questionnaire, the entire contents and options did not change and it could be shared via any electric device for anyone. To eliminate any possible obstacle of answering, I decided to hand out this online questionnaire via WeChat. Similar to WhatsApp, WeChat was almost used by every Chinese and had been the most popular and common instant communication social media in China. Smartphones were popular for most Chinese because they needed them to work, entertain, even pay for dinner as an electric wallet. On the other hand, other types of electric devices like computers, laptops, or tablets, required some restrictions because of their relatively high prices or single functions.
