Today was the first day about the part of sports management research for my mentorship. The whole project was to do some research about Minor League Ball Teams as much as possible to help Dr. Bonnie Tiell and her co-worker to write a professional article about the sports market. When I started my major at Tiffin University, I only knew there were four professional leagues in the U.S. sports industry: MLB (baseball), NBA (basketball), NFL (football), and NHL (hockey). Despite the American sports industry was prosperous with numerous types of sports, the four leagues were the most famous and favorite for the enthusiastic spectators both in the domestic and international sports market. Not only for the mature sports process from the exciting game performance by players to the teamwork behind games by sports industry staff, but also came from the beneficial returns to encourage entrepreneurs continuing to invest in this league operating mode. The smooth business operation mode made the sports industry go far away from any other country in the same field. Based on that, I thought for granted that there were corresponding minor leagues to the four professional leagues before my research. According to the first brief research for the Minor League Ball Team, I knew that there were many sports with their minor league teams, except for the most famous professional leagues. For instance, golf’s Korn Ferry Tour and Symetra Tour, respectively affiliated with the PGA Tour and LPGA; NASCAR’s Xfinity Series, Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, and Whelen All-American Series.
